The Revival of the Old Mill Inn

Tucked along Mattituck Inlet, the Old Mill Inn has been carefully restored after a six-year transformation led by New York restaurateur Anthony Martignetti. Originally built in the 1820s as a tidal-powered grist mill, the landmark now blends historic character with elevated comfort, offering year-round dining in a one-of-a-kind waterfront setting.

The reimagined space features handcrafted details throughout—from a zinc-topped bar and mahogany booths to original timber beams and a cozy wood-burning stove. Chef Kyle Bloomer leads the kitchen, serving seasonal plates like fluke crudo, burgers, and local seafood, with a wine list split between North Fork producers and global favorites—including Martignetti’s own Old Sound Vineyard label.

Guests can enjoy cocktails on the covered porch, relax at outdoor tables by the water, or even arrive by boat thanks to the on-site floating docks. Upstairs rooms will soon be available for overnight stays, bringing the inn full circle as both a neighborhood gathering spot and a destination worth traveling for.
