Montauk’s iconic year-round resort, Gurney’s, has added a new dining destination to its oceanfront property. Gigi’s, the latest addition to the Hamptons’ culinary scene, brings a family-style approach to New American cuisine with a distinct coastal influence.
With sweeping 180-degree ocean views, Gigi’s is designed to celebrate Montauk’s heritage and local abundance. The menu draws heavily from the surrounding region, featuring seafood sourced from Montauk fishermen and produce from nearby farms like Stone’s Throw in Sagaponack. The restaurant also nods to Montauk’s history as both a fishing hub and cattle farming community, blending land and sea into a refined dining experience.
Executive Chef Jason Lee, formerly part of the Mina Group under renowned chef Michael Mina, leads the kitchen. His creations include standout dishes such as pepper-crusted tuna au poivre — a coastal twist on the French classic, prepared with yellowfin tuna aged for 24 hours and finished with a peppercorn crust and sauce enriched with Murray’s Birba cheese. House-made agnolotti, crafted with imported Italian flour and filled with camembert goat milk cheese from master cheesemaker Sean O’Connor, adds a rich, artisanal touch. Steak lovers will also find indulgent cuts, from prime porterhouse to bone-in ribeye, with options like bone marrow butter to elevate the experience.
On the west side of the restaurant, a full bar showcases inventive cocktails and coastal wines, complementing the menu and enhancing the oceanfront setting.
Gigi’s joins other seasonal debuts at Gurney’s, including Dune Café & Lounge and the Dolce & Gabbana Beach Club Takeover, reinforcing the resort’s reputation as both a luxury getaway and a vibrant dining destination.
With its thoughtful sourcing, upscale but approachable dishes, and unmatched views, Gigi’s is poised to become one of Montauk’s most sought-after tables this summer and beyond.
