La Goulue Sur Mer Brings French Brasserie Flair to the Hamptons

Southampton Village has a new touch of Paris this season with the arrival of La Goulue Sur Mer, a seaside spin-off of Manhattan’s storied La Goulue. Opened July 2 at 210 Hampton Road, the brasserie brings French flair to a century-old building that has long been a mainstay of the local dining scene.

The 75-seat restaurant is helmed by Southampton natives Joseph DeCristofaro and Anthony Punnett, who drew on their years of fine-dining experience to create a fresh chapter for the historic space. With the blessing of original La Goulue co-founder Jean Denoyer, they’ve crafted an East End venture that blends timeless French elegance with coastal influences.

The menu celebrates classic brasserie fare—steak frites, cheese soufflé, confit de canard—alongside East End-driven dishes like scallops on celery-root purée and Mediterranean-style loup de mer. A thoughtfully curated wine list leans French while offering global selections, and the cocktail program is designed for lingering afternoons and lively evenings. On weekends, a newly designed lounge extends the experience with late-night service and live music.

The address itself carries decades of dining history, having housed everything from Balzarini’s red-sauce Italian to the long-beloved Red Bar. Following several quieter years, the reopening marks a new era for the landmark building, bringing a distinctive alternative to Southampton’s largely Italian-leaning fine-dining scene.

With its blend of tradition, refinement, and a hint of seaside Hamptons ease, La Goulue Sur Mer offers locals and visitors alike a taste of Paris on the East End. Reservations are available via OpenTable or by email, while walk-ins are welcome at the bar for aperitifs and small plates.
