Nestled beside the Speonk LIRR station, Nice Place Coffee has become one of the area’s most inviting new spots, blending international flavor with small-town warmth. Owned by Evan and Kate Church, longtime Speonk residents, the café opened in 2022 and continues to delight visitors with its curated mix of coffee, chocolate, and pastries from around the world.
Inside, the cozy space is a reflection of Kate’s design background — modern yet rustic, with reclaimed wood and local art creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. But it’s Evan’s passion for discovery that makes Nice Place so distinctive. The café features more than 300 chocolates from boutique makers across the globe, from Singapore’s Fossa to Sweden’s Standout and Los Angeles’ LetterPress, each selected for its craftsmanship and flavor.
Coffee lovers will find a focused but exceptional lineup: an organic dark roast from Yemen, Filicori Zecchini from Bologna, and Lavazza DEK decaf from Turin. Meanwhile, tea drinkers can enjoy creative matcha drinks infused with coconut, lavender, or cocoa.
Beyond beverages, the menu includes muffins, oat bars, and Italian pastries — many sourced from local and New York City favorites like Frank & Son in Mastic and Veniero’s in the East Village. The standout treat? Yemenite honeycomb cheese bread (khaliat al nahl) — warm, golden, and drizzled with honey.
Now a local favorite, Nice Place Coffee continues to be just that — a nice place for Speonk residents and visitors alike to slow down, sip something special, and discover flavors from around the world.
