More than two years after the beloved Erik’s café closed its doors, the familiar spot on Route 48 in Southold has found new purpose under the ownership of Stephen Ammirati and The Catered Fork.
Known across the North Fork for its catering services and popular food trucks, The Catered Fork officially took over the former Erik’s location in early 2023, marking an exciting new chapter for one of Southold’s most recognizable spaces. Since then, the business has continued to grow its presence on the East End, bringing the same creativity and quality that made it a favorite at weddings, special events, and local breweries to its permanent home base.
For many locals, Erik’s was more than just a place to grab coffee or breakfast — it was a community hub that connected neighbors, contractors, and weekend travelers for more than 15 years. The Catered Fork’s arrival has helped keep that welcoming spirit alive, ensuring the space remains part of daily life in Southold.
While the transition marked the end of an era for a longtime local staple, it also introduced a fresh beginning for the next generation of North Fork dining. Today, the corner of Route 48 and Hortons Lane continues to serve what it always has best — great food and genuine community connection.
