Fez & Ivy in Southold is a thoughtfully curated shop where global design influences meet timeless antiques and sustainable finds. Opened in June 2019 by Laura O’Brien, the store grew out of her longtime passion for collecting meaningful pieces for her own Greenport home and has since become a destination for those drawn to layered, well-traveled interiors.
Inside the shop, visitors will find an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage rugs, wallpaper, home accessories, and gifts sourced from around the world. The selection includes Persian, Turkish, and Moroccan rugs, many of them vintage or antique, alongside Indian rugs crafted from natural fibers like jute and wool. Textiles play a central role year-round, with block-printed napkins and tablecloths from India, Moroccan baskets, and recycled wool Scottish blankets that have become one of the shop’s most popular items.
The name Fez & Ivy reflects the balance of influences throughout the store. “Fez” nods to Turkish and Moroccan inspiration, while “Ivy” represents American vintage pieces, antiques, and newer items, many of which are sourced locally on Long Island or throughout the Northeast. This blend creates a space that feels both worldly and grounded.
In addition to larger furnishings such as antique dressers, cabinets, chairs, and mirrors in their original frames, Fez & Ivy carries smaller décor and giftable items. These include candles, soaps, bath salts, greeting cards, host gifts, and distinctive wallpaper designs from Chicago-based Mitchell Black. O’Brien places a strong emphasis on sustainability and upcycling, with a focus on unique products made by women-owned small businesses.
Jewelry offerings range from Brooklyn-made beaded necklaces to gold-plated horoscope medallions created on Long Island. Vintage glassware, candlesticks, rattan and metal trays, oil paintings, art prints, pillows, and throws round out the collection, offering pieces that can easily be layered into a home over time.
With price points that range from affordable paper goods to investment-worthy antique rugs, Fez & Ivy invites both casual browsers and serious collectors to explore.
