New York State is continuing its investment in local agriculture through the New York State Grown & Certified Cooperative Marketing Program, a funding opportunity designed to help farmers and producers expand their reach and increase sales through strategic marketing and promotion.

Administered by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets with support from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service, the program provides financial assistance for new marketing projects that raise consumer awareness of New York State Grown & Certified products. The certification program itself is voluntary and recognizes agricultural producers who meet established food safety standards and participate in an environmental management program.

A total of $500,000 in funding is available, with individual awards capped at $10,000 per applicant. Funding is intended for promotional initiatives that create lasting visibility for the NYS Grown & Certified brand, helping consumers more easily identify and choose locally produced food and agricultural products.

Eligible applicants must already participate in the New York State Grown & Certified program and have a signed licensing agreement in place. Applications are submitted through the Statewide Financial System Vendor Portal, and resources are available to guide applicants through the process.

The application period is open on a rolling basis, with submissions accepted through September 30, 2026, giving producers flexibility to plan and launch marketing efforts when timing is right.
