Homegrown Talent Driving a New Wave of East End Entrepreneurship

The East End of Long Island has long been a place where creativity and ambition take root. From artists and writers who once found inspiration along its shores to the modern entrepreneurs shaping its future, the Hamptons continue to foster ideas that turn into lasting businesses. Today, that spirit is especially visible in a new generation of founders who grew up here and are now investing back into the communities that shaped them.

Southampton natives Artur Barbosa and Tyler Garcia, both graduates of Southampton High School, transformed a shared interest into Hampton Car Spa, a mobile car wash and detailing service designed to meet clients at home. What began as a passion project evolved into a business well suited to the East End lifestyle, offering a convenient, high quality service tailored to the area’s many luxury vehicles. Their approach reflects a broader trend among local entrepreneurs who prioritize personal connections, hands on service, and community based growth.

In 2022, Ground + Gather was launched by Delaney Jones and Mallory Royer, combining wellness, food, and hospitality into elevated private experiences. With roots in Southampton and years spent building connections in the Hamptons, the duo created an events company centered on intentional gatherings that bring people together through yoga, dining, and mindful living. Their work reflects a growing demand for personalized, experience driven offerings that feel both intimate and meaningful.

In Sag Harbor, Annabel The Shop adds a fresh perspective to Main Street retail. Founded by local resident Annabel Tiger DeGroot, the boutique features a curated mix of clothing, accessories, and home goods with an emphasis on sustainable and women owned brands. The shop was born from a desire to bring thoughtfully selected pieces to the local shopping scene, creating a space that feels personal while still accessible.

Together, these businesses represent a broader entrepreneurial movement on the East End. Rooted in local experience and driven by creativity, they reflect how the Hamptons continues to evolve through the people who know it best, proving that innovation does not always come from outside, but often starts right at home.
