Nearly two years ago, a new restaurant opened on East Main Street in Riverhead, bringing vibrant Latin American flavors and a family-centered story to the local dining scene. Casa Dorado Deli Taqueria, located at 221 East Main Street in the Riverview Lofts building, was launched by Riverhead couple Raúl de Jesús Dorado and Xiomara Guevara after years of working together in the restaurant industry.
The couple first met while working at De Jesus Deli Taqueria in Roanoke Plaza in 2017. Over time, their shared experience in the kitchen and love of food inspired them to pursue their own restaurant. After years of planning and preparation, they opened Casa Dorado with the goal of creating a welcoming place for the Riverhead community.
The menu focuses on classic Latin American favorites, including tacos, burritos and other traditional dishes. Guests can also enjoy house-made beverages such as horchata, tamarind juice and agua de jamaica, offering authentic flavors that reflect the owners’ cultural backgrounds. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, providing a casual spot for meals throughout the day.
Inside, the restaurant is designed with a lively and colorful atmosphere. Bright green and orange walls, festive banners and playful details throughout the space help create an energetic environment that reflects the spirit of the cuisine and the owners’ personalities.
Casa Dorado has become another example of the growing diversity of Riverhead’s dining scene. Built around family, hard work and cultural heritage, the restaurant continues to contribute to the evolving food landscape along East Main Street while offering residents and visitors a welcoming place to gather and enjoy a meal.
