Poxabogue Golf Center & Fairway Cafe Undergo $1.8M Renovation

A longtime East End favorite is getting a thoughtful refresh. The Poxabogue Golf Center and its beloved Fairway Cafe in Sagaponack are currently undergoing a $1.8 million renovation, aimed at enhancing both the facility and the overall guest experience ahead of the upcoming season.

Originally opened in the early 1960s, Poxabogue has long been a staple for locals, offering a relaxed nine-hole course alongside a casual dining spot that has become a go-to for breakfast and laid-back meals. Now fully owned by Southampton Town, the property is receiving a series of upgrades designed to modernize the space while preserving its familiar charm.

The renovation includes improvements to the clubhouse, featuring new siding, doors, and decking, along with a small addition that allows for reconfigured bathrooms and improved accessibility. A new ramp will provide easier access to both the pro shop and restaurant, helping ensure the space is more welcoming and accessible for all visitors.

Additional enhancements are planned for the parking area and infrastructure, including a septic system upgrade supported by a water quality improvement grant. These upgrades are part of a broader effort to maintain the property’s long-term functionality while improving the overall experience for guests.

The Fairway Cafe is also entering a new chapter, now under the leadership of Michael Carolan, who previously managed the restaurant. With renovations underway and a refreshed vision in place, Poxabogue is set to reopen with an updated look while continuing to offer the easygoing, local feel that has made it a favorite for generations.
