Loide & Co. Celebrates Grand Opening at Tanger Outlets

The retail landscape at Riverhead’s Tanger Outlets has welcomed a unique addition focused on wellness, sustainability, and community connection. Riverhead Town Supervisor Jerry Halpin and the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce recently gathered alongside local supporters for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome Loide & Co. to the shopping center. Located right next to Nautica, the woman-owned, toxin-free boutique offers a sleek, white-walled sanctuary for mindful shopping.

The heart of the store lies in its premium selection of hand-poured, non-toxic candles. Founder Loide DiPippa crafts each piece using pure soy wax, eco-friendly cotton wicks, and clean fragrance oils, shifting production from her home kitchen to an interactive in-store studio. Alongside timeless classic aromas like cinnamon, vanilla, and lavender, the boutique features a dedicated coastal collection highlighting different beaches across Long Island. These beach-themed scents are designed to evoke personal memories for customers, transforming a simple fragrance into a nostalgic story.

Beyond home fragrances, Loide & Co. champions environmental sustainability through an innovative, zero-waste soap bar. Liz O’Shaughnessy, executive director of the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, praised the store’s unique value, which includes a station where customers can fill and refill 8, 16, and 32-ounce glass bottles with vegan, biodegradable household essentials like shampoo, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Every formula is completely free from dyes, perfumes, and petroleum. The eco-conscious lineup is further complemented by DiPippa’s proprietary alcohol-free, water-based room sprays and an array of handmade housewares and jewelry sourced directly from local vendors.

Community-building is an essential pillar of the new storefront. DiPippa utilizes her dedicated space to host a rotating schedule of crafty classes and neighborhood events, including candle-making, sewing, baking, and book clubs. Designed to be a warm, inclusive space, the boutique actively encourages individuals to join these workshops solo to meet new people and practice self-care.

For DiPippa, who balances her entrepreneurial venture with a career in healthcare, the Riverhead storefront represents the ultimate realization of a dream that began with kitchen-counter crafting in 2020. After pausing the project to support her husband through a successful kidney transplant and recovery, she scaled the business through the Babylon Farmer’s Market and online sales before making her brick-and-mortar debut. Backed by town officials and local business leaders, Loide & Co. offers visitors a peaceful, welcoming space to slow down and shop sustainably.
