A major new structural highlight is anchoring the visual arts community on the East End. C Fine Art + Advisory, widely recognized for orchestrating the premier Hamptons Sculpture Sights outdoor exhibition series, is expanding its regional footprint by establishing a permanent, year-round gallery and showroom space on Shelter Island. Under the guidance of sculpture specialist and founder Cheryl Sokolow, the boutique gallery practice is set to officially open its doors at 21 North Ferry Road on Friday, July 3, 2026, kicking off with an evening reception celebrating art and music.
The relocation marks a significant moment for contemporary dimensional art on the forks, transitioning a curatorial vision that previously activated temporary spaces like Bridge Gardens and the Southampton Arts Center into a focused home base. The inaugural exhibition, titled The Cadence of Form, leans away from standard narrative or symbolic storytelling, focusing instead on the raw mechanics of abstraction. The collection is designed to examine the physical language of structure, weight, and motion, spotlighting the actual process of artistic fabrication.
The physical characteristics of the curated works are shaped heavily by the natural resistance of the mediums themselves. Visitors exploring the new space will experience a continuous visual dialogue driven by an incredibly diverse range of industrial and organic elements, including fabricated metals, carved wood, hand-formed paper, glass, plastics, and clay. The exhibition features pieces from a highly accomplished roster of internationally recognized and museum-collected artists, including Kevin Barrett, John Van Alstine, Norman Mooney, Bill Barrett, and Hans Van de Bovenkamp, among several other prominent contemporary creators.
By setting up a permanent presence on Shelter Island, the advisory practice is strategically positioning itself to serve residential, commercial, and public art collectors directly from the heart of the island’s burgeoning cultural corridor. The launch introduces an inspiring, specialized gallery experience that seamlessly connects the natural beauty of the island with world-class dimensional craftsmanship.
