Timed for its 100th anniversary year, the extensive architectural updates bring a refreshed, contemporary aesthetic to the property’s main entrance, guest lobby, outdoor lounge areas, and indoor-outdoor dining venues.
The resort’s principal culinary destination has been re-established as Gigi’s MTK, an exclusive steak and seafood venue developed specifically for the property rather than operating as an offshoot of a city dining brand. The restaurant pays homage to key figures in the resort’s hundred-year history—including original 1926 founder Maude Gurney—with a menu centered around sustainable Atlantic catches, prime cuts, and regional farm partnerships.
The interior overhaul extends beyond aesthetics to enhance the resort’s year-round guest experience during the quieter off-season months. By integrating climate-controlled indoor lounge nooks, refined lighting schemes, and ambient outdoor fire elements overlooking the Atlantic, the property reinforces its distinct standing as a four-season getaway, offering winter visitors an elevated oceanfront sanctuary away from the summer crowds.
Designed by HBA San Francisco, the interior concept draws directly from the surrounding maritime landscape, pairing organic textures, coastal tones, and natural stone accents with expansive shoreline views. The redesigned lobby functions as an open-plan living room and communal gathering place, creating a seamless connection between the hotel entrance, central bar, and oceanfront outdoor firepit terraces. As one of the East End’s few year-round beach resorts, the physical evolution reflects the iconic property’s ongoing commitment to modern luxury on the Montauk coast.
