The Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton has reopened following a $2.2 million revitalization campaign, celebrated with a community event that drew hundreds of patrons, supporters, and local officials. The two-phase project was funded through capital funds and a foundation-led campaign that raised more than $700,000, with no tax increases required.
At the heart of the renovation is The Bookmark Café, a partnership with South Fork Bakery’s Rise program, which creates jobs for adults with developmental disabilities. Operated by Hannah Moritz of Hannah’s Home Delights, the café adds a welcoming new feature to the library experience.
Additional upgrades include a larger children’s play area, expanded tech lab, a teen space, three quiet study rooms, new furnishings, and expanded shelving. A dedicated area now supports community services such as passport applications, notary services, and social work outreach.
Attendees at the grand reopening enjoyed refreshments, activities for children, lawn games, raffles, and tours of the revitalized spaces. With its fresh design and expanded offerings, Rogers Memorial Library is reaffirming its role as a true community center, ready to serve Southampton for years to come.
