Five years ago, chef and culinary creative Sarah Mastracco settled permanently into her Cutchogue home and began offering plant-based meals for local pickup. The enthusiastic response from the community gave her the push to turn a long-held vision into reality. In May, she opened Flavor Fork, a grab-and-go gourmet shop in Greenport that celebrates wholesome food, thoughtful flavors, and local inspiration.
Mastracco’s culinary journey has always been fueled by passion. From learning the art of home-cooked meals in her childhood kitchen to working alongside culinary icons like Martha Stewart, Bobby Flay, and Emeril Lagasse, she built her expertise on both professional training and personal exploration. Travels around the world further shaped her palate, introducing her to flavors she now reimagines for the North Fork.
At Flavor Fork, every product tells a story — whether it’s a house-made staple or a carefully curated local find. Shelves are stocked with inventive pantry favorites that invite customers to experiment, discover, and enjoy. Highlights include Flavor Fork’s own Chili Pepp Crunch, a bold mix of umami, garlic, fried shallots, and spice; a House Vinaigrette blending Dijon mustard, honey, and Mediterranean spices; and a Mediterranean Salt Blend perfect for upgrading everyday cooking.
The store also partners with local makers to expand its offerings. Brian Burgess Ceramics, crafted in Greenport, provides coastal-inspired pinch bowls for spices. Shelter Island’s Vine Street Café contributes its Heirloom Tomato Sauce, made with peak-season heirlooms and no preservatives. Shoppers will also find global inspiration, like Milla’s Puffs, a Portuguese yuca-based snack, and Ayoh’s Giardiniera Mayonnaise by cookbook author Molly Baz, which adds a tangy kick to any meal.
