Greenport’s boutique scene gained a fresh dose of coastal elegance with the opening of Salt + Sea, a shop inspired by the effortless charm of the Mediterranean seaside. Blending Italian coastal flair with North Fork sensibilities, the boutique was created to offer what owner Elyse Merrifield calls a Peconic Bay chic aesthetic — elevated, nautical, and relaxed all at once.
Stepping inside Salt + Sea feels like a mini escape to the Amalfi Coast. Deep sea–blue walls, warm lighting, lemon trees, woven textures, and retro-inspired artwork create a bright, beachy atmosphere. The boutique was designed as a destination for locals and visitors who want stylish, ready-to-wear clothing after a day on the water, at vineyards, or around town.
Salt + Sea features a seasonally rotating mix of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, footwear, fragrances, candles, and art. Merrifield curated a lineup of high-quality brands — including Faherty, Paige, Rails, Saint James, MC2 Saint Barth, Ellis Brooklyn, Nation LTD, and others — all chosen for their craftsmanship, breezy style, and coastal inspiration. Sustainable denim, soft organic cotton, polished dresses, striped nautical tops, and lightweight knits are among the boutique’s standout offerings.
Having spent her career in fashion and previously co-owning Popsicle & Finn, Merrifield always dreamed of opening her own store in Greenport. Returning to the same location with Salt + Sea felt like a natural next chapter, and she has woven the region’s maritime character into every detail of the experience.
