East Hampton Outlines $8.5M Municipal Campus Centralization

East Hampton municipal authorities are evaluating a sweeping $8.5 million overhaul aimed at centralizing town government operations on Pantigo Road. The architectural concept, developed by consulting firm L.K. McLean Associates, outlines a consolidated civic footprint designed to streamline administrative access for residents while replacing outdated, disused structures.

The centerpiece of the site plan involves razing the vacant legacy town hall facility to construct a series of three interconnected, timber-framed barn-style buildings. Designed to mirror the aesthetic of the current campus architecture, the proposed 12,000-square-foot open-plan layout would provide flexible workspace to unite departments currently operating out of satellite facilities, including office spaces at 300 Pantigo Place.

Beyond core building construction, approximately $1.7 million of the budget is designated for campus-wide infrastructure enhancements. Planned site work focuses on reconfiguring internal vehicle roadways, improving pedestrian walkways, and expanding accessible parking closer to municipal service counters. Town leadership anticipates offsetting capital costs through the strategic divestment of surplus municipal real estate and dedicated energy efficiency grant funding.
